I recently learned a new origami model to add to my repertoire: the Dreaming Owl designed by Alexander Kurth. I have been trying for a long time to find an owl model I like, and that could work for incorporating into jewelry. I finally found it! Unfortunately, it isn't diagrammed, but Alexander made a great video tutorial. If you're up for the challenge, give it a try: I made a few practice models before this cute metallic fellow that I happily gifted to an owl loving friend: Now for my favorite part! The jewelry! Here's a peek at my first couple of beaded necklaces made with the Dreaming Owl pendants I made: Each pendant, like all of my origami jewelry, is protected with many coats of an acrylic glaze I use.
I can't wait to make more pendants for my owl necklace menagerie. What do you think? Are these charming or what? :)
