Feeling Floral

Many of you who know me are aware of my big project the last 6 months or so, which is creating an entire wedding's worth of origami flowers out of mostly comic books. An old friend reached out to me for her wedding needs, and as a result I'm creating bouquets, boutonnieres, corsages, favor boxes, bridesmaid jewelry, centerpiece flowers, and even a little flower to add onto each invitation. It's the biggest project I've taken on myself, and it has been so much fun to work on!

Pretty fun, right? My friend Fern is sure to have a unique and charming wedding later this year, and I'm so happy to get to help!


So while making all these flowers, I started making more and more (non comic book) origami flowers on the side, for other bouquets. I've been spending a lot of time lately making spring bouquets, and I am loving the results! 

I even learned a great simple leaf model, which accents some of the flowers perfectly. 
Take a look at my attempt to welcome in the spring season, minus the spring allergies:

Doesn't this blue tequila bottle make a perfect vase? I'm a sucker for good packaging!

Hydrangeas (designed by Shuzo Fujimoto) are SO satisfying to make, albeit time consuming!

(Of course I had to sneak a new comic book bouquet in there too!)


A few bouquets are available on my Etsy shop, but please reach out if you're interested in a custom bouquet! I adore doing custom work, and can also wrap the stems in ribbon for use as a hand bouquet.
Paper flowers will never die, wilt, or require any maintenance. Plus, like I mentioned earlier in my post, no allergies! 

It seems like paper flowers are becoming a bigger and bigger trend, for obvious reasons. It feels good to be on top of this one ;)
